Aufgaben, Kompetenzen und Verantwortung

Placed under the authority of the Head of Programs, the main tasks of the Program Manager are:


  • Being the customer interface on planning, resources and technical topics
  • Being the main focal between customer and internal stakeholders
  • Reporting progress (follow-up of deliverables) to the customer
  • Managing Customer orders and cascading them to internal stakeholders (incl. ERP system for production) when agreed
  • Negotiating if any, the late deliveries (for Airbus Programs, through AirSupply ODD collaboration)


  • Following progress (follow-up of deliverables) and planning, in the ideal case from RfQ (Request for Quotation) until Program
  • Closure Meeting
  • Dealing with program priorities
  • Following up of internal and external program activities
  • Managing the internal (COP , COPIL) and external program reviews e.g. (KOM, CDR, PRM, IRM,etc…)
  • Monitoring activity
  • Updating and reporting  KPI
  • Optimising activities and processes (Design to cost)
  • Proposing solutions and being a facilitator, also able to manage conflict situations.
  • Reporting of issues, anomalies and dysfunctions that cannot be treated at his/her level to his hierarchy (escalation process).
  • Assuring that company’s processes go in line with the customer processes
  • Responsible of the financial result of the program and ensure the cost/invoicing follow-up
  • Managing (functionally only), structuring and organizing the team allocated to his/her
  • Program (Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement & Purchasing, Logistics, Production)
  • Managing the ramp-up and ramp-down to adapt the workforce to the workload in close collaboration with the activity managers rank 1 and, if required, with the Head of Engineering, Head of Industrial, Head of Quality.
  • Managing the training of the team linked to him/her
  • Communicating the planning to the teams. For serial production in particular, securing that any Customer planning update is feasible on each involved sites (workload smoothing required as much as possible). For  this  purpose, liaise  with  Produktion  Management Departement.
  • Coordinating the work to do between the different teams linked to him/her
  • Authorizing the vacations and absences within the team
  • Ensuring the security of the team linked to him/her


  • Allocating, for each Level-1 activity manager (“responsible de Lot 1”), the yearly max budget to be spent on the dedicated Program.
  • Distributing the associated FdL (“Fiche de Lot”) and cascading to each Level-1  activity manager
  • Responsibility for the Budget target of his/her activity.
  • Following invoicing as per the contractual payment plans (Development milestones for upfront NRP, ODD for serial production RP price as well as amortized NRP)
  • Managing its/her “Plan de compte” (OET list), open and close OET´s on due time (opening: prior to activity start, closure: after KoD  and last Lancement closure)
  • Responsible of the financial result of the program and ensure the cost/invoicing follow-up
  • Analysing root causes and if applicable, proposing convergence/recovery solutions in case of non-adherence to the initial budget (claim, investments in cost reduction programs, transfer of work to Best Cost Countries…)


Fachliche Anforderungen

  • Degree in Engineering, Production Processes, Aviation or related fieldlo
  • Experience with aircraft technology and would be an advantage.
  • Fluent English languages skills are mandatory
